IT-Engineer/Administrator
at ExecutiveSurf in Düsseldorf
This position is responsible for the technical support of the Düsseldorf office and the Central European and New Markets offices, covering Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Support includes specification, installation and testing of systems, peripherals and networks and acting as both IT support and one-on-one consultant for all staff in the relevant offices.
The candidate will need a broad knowledge of IT in general, and will be tasked with creating a proactive support environment throughout European region (Germany and by opportunity Switzerland and Austria.
Superb communication skills will be required to enable the candidate to pass on relevant information from the Head of IT to the managers and staff in the various European offices.
The role requires the candidate to be able to work unsupervised and often under pressure, and be an authoritative figure head.
This individual needs to be bright, alert, loyal, and have the ability to work as an integral part of a small world wide team.

You will be:
• Responsible for communicating business and technical needs of the Eur3 offices to the IT team and the Head of IT in particular
• Responsible for supporting the desktop environment including PCs, laptops, Blackberries, telephones and peripherals.
• Responsible for supporting the Eur3 (Citrix) remote user environment
• Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Eur3 network (both in office and inter-office) and servers
• Responsible for Eur3 input into IT strategy and implementation of Group IT projects in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Requirements:
Technologies used: HP/Compaq, Nexsan, NetApp, Juniper, Buffalo, Cisco, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Checkpoint firewall, Polycom VSX7000, Microsoft Office 2007, Novell Groupwise 7, Microsoft SQL 2005, Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, VMware ESX 3.5, Active Directory, Windows 2003 server, Windows XP, Groove 2007, Blackberry Enterprise 4, Cognos 8, JDEdwards, Macintosh
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Degree in a computing related discipline
• Proven experience with Windows XP, NT, Server 2000 and Server2003 – Qualified Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) qualified in at least one of these
• Sound and demonstrable knowledge of Citrix Presentation Server
• Sound knowledge of TCPIP and other networking protocols (to be tested in an interview questionnaire).
• Excellent knowledge of switches, hubs and routers.
• Good knowledge of all round PC and Microsoft application support
• Proven documentation skills
