Naace is the professional association for those who are involved in advancing education through the appropriate use of ICT. It has c.2,300 members and is supported by over 100 sponsoring partners from the education ICT industry. Its members include education authority advisers, advisory teachers, inspectors, independent education ICT consultants, heads of ICT education centres, higher education staff engaged in teacher education, headteachers and others providing strategic leadership for the development of ICT in schools and colleges and teachers. Naace provides a wide range of services to its members, liaises with its sponsoring partners and works closely with government departments, agencies and other organisations in the development and implementation of national policy in relation to the use of ICT in schools and colleges.
Naace is a registered charity with a Board of Management (the Trustees) supported by sub-committees and working groups.
Naace seeks to appoint an Events Officer who will be responsible for the complete cycle of planning, marketing, delivering and reviewing Naace events and exhibitions for members and sponsors to budget, time and quality requirements. The post holder will be based at the Naace offices on the vibrant Nottingham Trent Campus in Clifton, Nottingham but travel throughout the UK to the wide range of events and exhibitions will be required with stays away from home as required.

Key responsibilites:
The complete cycle of planning, marketing, delivering and reviewing Naace events and exhibitions for members and sponsors to budget, time and quality requirements.
Achievement of KPI targets for attendance at events and exhibitions.
Management reporting on events.
Matrix management of Business Support Assistants as required and other contributors to Naace events and exhibitions.
Management of third party contracts required for successful delivery of Naace events and exhibitions.
Liaison with Finance Officer to ensure compliance with finance procedures.
The range and balance of duties will be subject to change in line with the requirements of the Board of Management, the Naace Strategic Plan in force from time to time and the overall development of the Association.

Person specification - essential:
At least two years proven experience of leading on and delivering large scale professional events and exhibitions
Graduate level or equivalent e.g. NVQ Level 4
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Organisational ability and good time management skill.
Attention to detail
Advanced IT literacy including management and manipulation of databases, complex mail merging and deduplication of lists, and an ability to adopt new systems including the ability to develop an in-house online booking system
Ability to work in a team, flexibly, independently and on own initiative
Excellent telephone skills.
A willingness to work away from home when overnight attendance at conferences or events is required.
A commitment to efficient and rigorous implementation of agreed office procedures.
Demonstrable interest in the advancement of ICT in education.

Person specification - desirable:
A willingness to engage in personal professional development as identified on appointment and as required as the post develops.
Experience of teaching.
Experiene of working in a member-based organisation

Key interpersonal skills:
To be creative and imaginative when dealing with other people.
To be calm, diplomatic, tactful and cheerful under pressure.
To communicate clearly and effectively with a range of professional people and organisations.
To be able to engage in professional dialogue with the General Manager in order to review performance and to identify areas for development and improvement.

Additional Information

Status: Full Time, Maternity Leave Cover

Salary: This is a band three position with salary between £19,000 – £25,000
per annum with 25 days leave, access to an Employee Assistance Package,
flexi time, free parking.
