Leading educational publishing partner to government requires a hands-on Sales Manager with very strong sales and negotiation skills to join its sales team and in turn report to the Sales Director based in CT

The position is based in KING WILLIAMS’ TOWN / EAST LONDON but the person will travel extensively within the Eastern Cape, S.A.

The successful incumbent:
•Will be responsible for the Sales and Marketing of all the company’s products and services across all segments. *Analysis of market size, share and trends as well as identification of opportunities in new and existing markets for all the company’s products and services within the designated regional areas of responsibility. *Analysis of the competitive position of the company’s products with regard to quality, availability and price. *Recommending of marketing/sales strategies for the company *Develop strong relationships with customers in order to gain knowledge of the customer base and ensure sustained relationships. *Co-ordination with the Sales Directors within the operating divisions. *Participate in one or more of the segment forums *Manage the warehouse function within the region *Lead and develop sales staff

Ability to identify market and customer needs and match to own ability to produce i.e. able to spot opportunities for growth
Strong verbal and written skills.
Ability to identify new opportunities and recommend new initiatives
Able to work in a team environment and elicit support from the Sales Directors at Divisional level

Business / Marketing degree or equivalent, the ideal candidate will be from an Educational / Teaching background
Experience in the Sales Environment and the management of a team
An Energetic and intelligent analytical thinker with street smarts and an entrepreneurial passion and an opportunistic outlook required
