at Fondazione Edmund Mach in Fondazione Edmund Mach, San Michele all\\\'Adige, Trento, Italy
The Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM) was established in 2007 jointly by the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Agricultural Institute at San Michele all’Adige (IASMA). FEM will carry forward and expand the mission of IASMA (established in 1874) of sustaining Trentino’s land-based economy through experimentation, education and technological transfer (advisory service). Additionally, the FEM is now establishing a Research and Innovation Centre that aims at playing an international leading role in research and innovation in three main research areas:
As part of this strategic drive, the Foundation is setting up a metabolomics facility. The laboratory is already equipped with gas chromatography-mass spectrometers (GC-TOF/MS and GC-MS/MS), ultrahigh-speed liquid chromatography-mass spectrometers (UPLC_Q-TOF/MS and UPLC MS/MS), high-resolution (FTMS) spectrometer will be available in 2009, and already comprises seven full time researchers and technicians.
Describtion: Analytical work in the field of plant metabolomics.
Tasks: Implementation of sample preparation protocols for the high-throughput analytical platform and methodologies with the aim of validation of the new analytical platform by confrontation with the conventional metabolic analysis.
