Stream UK are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator. The role requires a strong understanding of high availability web hosting for both Windows and Linux environments.
We are looking for someone with a good computer science related degree and least 5 years commercial experience in a similar role. You should also be passionate about the web. You must be an excellent communicator and be able to both receive and give instruction clearly and quickly. Proven ability to work as part of a team is a must.
Salary £35K-£45K (final salary depends on skill set and experience)
Essential Skills:
• Windows Server (2003/2008, AD, Exchange)
• Linux/Unix (Redhat, apache)
• Database administration, MSSQL, MySQL
• Network administration (Cisco – 6500’s, PIX, Vlans)
• Load balancing (Hardware and Linux software)
Useful Experience:
• Knowledge of running high availability machines
• VMWare ESX
• Windows Clustering
• Linux Clustering
• LAMP hosting
• WMS/IIS Hosting
Attitude and approach:
• Methodical and high attention to detail
• Willing to occasionally work non-conventional hours or as part of a 24 hour support rota.
