Our Client Versatile Foods Limited (trading as McGee Butchers) are currently recruiting for Retail Store Managers
Versatile Foods Limited is a medium sized organization specialising in the manufacture, presentation and sale of fresh food and meat products to the public.
We retail our produce to the public via high class elegant Food Halls located in some of the most prestigious Shopping Centres in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We currently have five of these outlets with a turnover of approx €10 million pa., with staff of approx 110 people.
Our Client is very keen to speak to candidates who are confident in their Retail Management Skills and would like to stress that a talent for butchery is not essential although an interest in food preparation and presentation would be considered necessary.

What can you expect……..
• The successful candidates will oversee the daily operations of running a very busy modern Foodhall.
• They will manage and motivate a small team of dedicated staff (approximately 10 – 15 people).
• They will have responsibility for shop performance, profitability, ordering, stock rotation, production, presentation, hygiene issues, staff rotas, banking etc.,
We want to hear from ambitious and motivated people with the following qualifications and experience……
• Food Tech/Science Qualification or a Managerial/Business Qualification would be advantageous, but not necessary.
• This position may appeal to a chef who has experience of working in a busy kitchen/food preparation environment.
• Proven ability to manage a large Butchery, Kitchen or Deli type operation.
• This role might suit someone who currently manages a busy retail operation or a fresh food department within a retail environment.
• These positions do not necessarily require the successful candidates to have butchery or meat cutting skills but rather the necessary flair and passion that are associated with producing quality food.

• The successful candidate must have the ability, the passion and the energy to carry out the role effectively.
• They will be a proven leader with the ability to delegate accordingly.
• They will have strong customer service skills and be aware of the importance of fresh food handling. They will be able to train and motivate staff effectively and command their respect. They will be a hands on person who is not afraid of hard work.
