Junior C++ Developer

Our client is a well established Essex based Software House with over 25 years developing cutting edge HR and Payroll systems for their global client base. With an increase in demand for their products and services, they want to recruit junior to mid level C++ Developers who want a good career path in technology development.
Based on Object Orientated development principles, their products are leading the way in HR and Payroll systems for the global market. There is a huge variety in the scope and definition of projects and you will learn valuable new skills on the job and via training courses...
The Person:
You must be a confident self-starter with the ability to assimilate new skills quickly and possess good interpersonal skills. The office is lively, fun and promotes a work hard, play hard ethos. This is an exciting and challenging role and will suit a candidate with high ambitions who is keen to learn and progress quickly.
Minimum experience should include at least 2 years commercial C/C++ Development and ideally:
Working knowledge of SQL databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server
Experience of other programming languages & multiple operating systems helpful
Good technical presentation skills; must be happy around a whiteboard
Good documentation skills
Experience of Object Orientated Design
Must have a desire to learn about new technologies and drive these forward.
(Nice to have) Secondary skills:
Web Services, Windows CE, Pocket PC, Linux, C#
Team Fit Requirements:
Team player - The ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
Should be enthusiastic, pro-active, punctual and a good communicator.
Ability to show initiative and think laterally.
Sense of humour.
Building and maintaining rapport with customers.
Education and Experience:
Trained to Degree/HND level in computer programming. 2 years commercial experience in C or C++ based development.
