Editorial Assistant - New Media

Great opportunity for an online journalist / content manager to work for an exciting new online project in London EC3.
Smartlandlord.co.uk is currently live as a beta site and will be fully operational in Spring 2009. The site combines e-commerce with editorial and is aimed at buy to let property investors for one of the insurance industry's biggest success stories, Europe's largest independently owned insurance intermediary.
Smartlandlord.co.uk has a rapidly expanding first class interactive team of 8 people working client-side in a very busy but relaxed working atmosphere with fantastic creative challenges, career progression and flexible benefits.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly creative, bright and enthusiastic online journalist with creative flair, conceptual skills, good time management skills, a minimum of 1 year's industry experience including content management and a keen interesting in branding to join our growing e-commerce team in a permanent position with an initial 6-month trial period.
Your role will be to source, write, edit and upload content for the website and ensure that it is within the compliance and brand and brand guidelines. You will support the editor in the daily update of editorial content (news, articles, interviews, blogs), as well as bi-weekly email newsletters. In addition, you will be working with the team and external specialists on sales and marketing initiatives, producing compelling and well-crafted copy for online and offline sales and marketing materials.
This role would suit someone with a hands-on approach who enjoys working on a variety of projects and is looking to grow with the company. You will already have some experience of working in a new media environment or alternatively a client-side content management role.
As a journalist / content manager you'll need superb writing skills (both editorial and sales copy) as well as an interest in property and/or personal finance. Experience with Sharepoint is preferable but not essential. An understanding of backend technologies, web production, user experience and web content would also be useful.
