Company: Our client is one of the world’s leading IT companies. Headquartered in California they have over 7,500 staff developing and support market leading software and hardware applications. Their European IT Support centre is based in Cork and supports their European IT operations.

New positions exist for English Technical Support professionals to join their Cork based European IT team supporting their respective EMEA customers on software and hardware issues.

Role: As part of their English Technical support team you will support customers on a variety of inbound IT related issues (hardware and software). You will be required to troubleshoot their IT queries primarily focused on UNIX, Linux, Windows, NT in different network environments. You will take between 20-35 calls per day that will require you to solve customer queries on pc applications, hardware, software, and networking.

Skills: The ideal candidates will possess EU citizenship and speak Fluent English plus fluency in a second European language is essential (French, German, Italian or Spanish). The ideal candidates will have 3-5 years IT support experience in a range of hardware and software support roles.
You must have a strong knowledge in Microsoft OS and additionally in Networking, UNIX, NT, MVS/VM, Open Host, Mainframe and network security. Candidates with a degree or certificate in computer studies and further training eg MCSE, MCP etc are preferred. Knowledge of Shell & Perl Scripting is an advantage.
