Not quite a project management role, not quite an administrative role, the perfect person does not necessarily need proven experience in a similar position – attitude and ability are all important here.

Filling what is probably the most important role in our small company at the moment, you will be in the middle of pretty much everything we do; you will need to solve problems, manage deadlines, impose order and maintain an air of tranquil calm – no matter what the client has just asked for.

You will be expected to attend client meetings with the Creative or Account Director, and may often find yourself being the only one with a clear picture of the overall requirements of a project – as such, the task of keeping the designers and development team on schedule will often fall to you. Once you are confident with your new role and familiar with our practices you may find yourself attending client meetings on your own and becoming the main point of contact for projects you are involved with.

Aside from a professional, client-facing manner and a good grasp of writing proper, you will need to be better organised than anyone else in the office. You will be required to carry out minor administrative tasks such as occasional filing, cost tracking, helping to write proposals, taking meeting notes, carrying out research or compiling data for reports. You will also get roped into helping the directors with everything from bookkeeping and planning of systems through to image manipulation, copywriting and creative brainstorming; you may also find yourself helping out on photo-shoots, organising small events or blogging, tweeting and updating websites as required (including the woefully out of date Profission website!).

A creative spirit is a definite bonus, as is an eye for detail and design – our work is internationally published and of a high quality, so everyone on the team shares responsibility for the quality of the things we produce. Any experience of working with web-based projects would be considered useful but not vital – we can teach you that bit. Any unused or hidden creative abilities will also be put to good use!

The role could suit an experienced PA or office manager looking for a role with a bit more variety, or someone coming from an account exec background in the creative sector. We would expect the successful applicant to become an important part of the company, whose responsibilities will grow as the company grows, and there is enough flexibility to make this role your own and take it forward in a way that suits you.

Experience with Excel and MSOffice is required, experience with Access or an understanding of databases is an advantage.

This role is primarily office-based and the position is for our London W1 office, however occasional home-working may be possible on certain projects
